1 (5m 37s): Well, I'm here with Taylor Belcher, who became a certified aroma therapist in 2018 and shortly after created her Instagram and blog at toxin-free family sharing her favorite essential oil and toxin-free lifestyle hacks, tips and recipes.

0 (5m 54s): Since then, she has amassed over 40,000 followers and also runs an essential oil accessory shop called taylors essentials.com. So Taylor, welcome to the show. How are you today?

4 (6m 7s): Hey, thank you so much for having me and it's such an honor to be here. So thank you so much.

0 (6m 12s): Well thanks for taking the time. So there's so much I wanna ask you about the world of influencing and essential oils. It's a, it's a, it's a wild world out there, but I wanna start with just what made you start using essential oils?

4 (6m 27s): Okay, so I first got my hands on essential oils probably in like 2015. I think the first time my cousin Deanna brought essential oils to just Christmas dinner. And my mom and I were very intrigued by them and sniffing them all. And of course lavender and peppermint, we were just astonished by. So I instantly fell in love with them and then we could fast forward to about 2016, 2017. I was living in Germany with my ex-husband at the time who was in the Air Force station there and I just went full force into essential oils and I, it just became a huge hobby of mine.

4 (7m 7s): So I just fell in love with them. And the story of how I became a certified room therapist is actually funny. There was a Facebook group for the military spouses on the base that I was a part of and people would always post like questions. And I think the one time someone posted a question about pets and essential oils and I just commented like something knowledgeable about essential oils and pets and I don't remember what it was, but I had this one woman, she was another spouse and she just like attacked me and was telling me that I had no idea what I was talking about and that I should not open my mouth about essential oils if I wasn't a certified room with therapists.

4 (7m 49s): And went on and on. And this happened a lot. Like she would always attack me whenever I had anything to say about essential oils. So I accepted the challenge and I went to a aroma head institute and became a certified aromatherapist. And I did rub it in her face a little bit on the spouse's group, but it honestly just like fell into my lap and I'm so grateful, I'm so happy that I did it. So I am grateful for that woman. That was very mean to me.

0 (8m 16s): Well it's interesting, some people would see that attack and totally retreat, right? And just kind of go off into the shadows and be like, Oh well you know, I don't wanna say the wrong thing. I don't wanna offend anyone. I don't wanna make this mistake, I'll, I'll just shut up. You know, I just won't say anything ever again and

4 (8m 34s): Exactly.

0 (8m 35s): But it's really sad that that is what happens a lot of the time. But I, you are obviously like a very headfirst person, headstrong person, like you're like, Nope, I'm gonna do the opposite of that. I'm gonna go far into this and sort of prove that like I have the right to open my mouth. But even me saying that out loud, I wanna go ahead and ask what are your feelings about people talking about essential oils or really in general like the health things that are working for them online without necessarily being certified? It's a tricky subject.

4 (9m 13s): So one thing I always said is you don't have to be a certified aromatherapist to use essential oils and to share essential oils. It's not a necessity. And I just think there are a lot of misconceptions that are spread and false. I guess false like safety tips that people give. So that is scary sometimes, but honestly it's kind of common sense when using essential oils. You don't need to go to school and study them. It just takes some own research on your own that you can do, which I think everybody that uses essential oils should do their own research and know the safety tips and know exactly how to use them safely, especially when they have kids and pets involved.

4 (9m 57s): But something I think becoming a certified aroma therapist for me was just for me to know everything about the safety. And I don't wanna give somebody bad advice and you know, hurt potentially harm them or in any way, but it's definitely not a necessity.

0 (10m 16s): So Taylor, I'm curious, were there things that you came across during your certification training that you were really kind of glad that you came across and that you sometimes maybe see people online sharing, like safety tips or things like that, that you kind of go, Oh well no, that's not actually accurate And I, I guess another way to say that is like what kind of misconceptions do you see being spread about essential oils that you, you wish people would stop spreading?

4 (10m 46s): Okay, the number one thing that comes to mind, which is very controversial is pets and essential oils. It is something that drives me crazy when seeing on Facebook or Instagram or just even just people in general and you say essential oils and pets and they say essential oils are gonna kill your cat. Essential oils kill cats, don't use essential oils around pets, they're gonna kill your dogs. That drives me insane because it's so false. And yes, you have to be safe when using essential oils around pets and you have to, there are some essential oils that you might want to stay away from and you have to, if you're diffusing in a room with your pets, always allow them to have a way out.

4 (11m 28s): Always even open up the window, open up the doors, let it be and open an airy room instead of just keeping your pets confined in a room with this aroma that is very concentrated. So the one thing that just drives me crazy is when I see people that don't even use essential oils or don't even know anything about essential oils saying that no matter what essential oils kill your cats. That's it. End of story. When I remember when there was the post going around, kind of when it first started with the girl that she was saying I think it was her cat that whatever essential oil killed her cat, she was diffusing it and then all of a sudden she came home and her cat was dead.

4 (12m 8s): And I looked into her specifically and turns out that she was using essential oils that she just bought at the grocery store and she didn't know what she was doing with them. So she probably kept the cat in a small room confined. I don't know, I don't know the story with behind that, but

0 (12m 27s): Yeah, we don't know, like the medical history of

4 (12m 28s): Medical history, we don't know, Oh that's 0 (12m 31s): What kind of junk was in those bottles that she got from the grocery store. The gas, I mean people buy essentials from gas stations. Like that to me is just clear, like no-go zone unfortunately. Yeah, unfortunately that does happen. So you know, and I, I understand from one perspective, yes, like information can get out there and people can interpret that information and do unsafe things with it. And that can happen with anything, right? Any supplement or trend or you know, like Tide pods for example. It's like things can go south pretty quickly, but that's just because we're dealing with very large populations of people and a lot of bad decisions frankly.

0 (13m 19s): But the fact that that can like taint someone's perception of essential oils and prevent them from even like trying them or experiencing them and then going further and like attacking people that are sharing essential oils and trying to make a living or a business out of central oil. Like that's to me where you cross a line of nonsensical and it just, it kind of infuriates me cuz you're talking about people's like emotions and their livelihood and some people have been really traumatized by this. Like I've had some, a lot of mud thrown in my face and I'm just like sitting back here like just trying to do good. Honestly I'm a nice person so it hurts my feelings.

4 (13m 60s): Right? That's where I'm at. And the funny thing is, these same people that like attack essential oil people for using them around pets are the same people that are using candles that are using air fresheners and plugins. And it's like you're so quick to talk about a natural substance that you know and the, the effects with pets, but what about the synthetic and the fragrances that you're using? It's just crazy how people are just so quick to judge without looking at themselves first

0 (14m 31s): Very quick. Yeah, very, very narrow lens is what I like to say. Very narrow. Yes. So to some fun things. Now I wanna talk about, cuz you're a social media game, you were just so on point and you're sharing so many amazing things on there. Like the other day I came across your Instagram, you were sharing this DIY deodorant spray, which I love. I kind of have like an obsession, a weird obsession with deodorant. I have so many deodorants, I love to try all these different things. DIY or store bot, it's kind of odd honestly, but tell tell us everything about your DIY deodorant spray cuz I think that's such a genius recipe.

4 (15m 13s): Thank you. So making your own deodorant is a great way to stay away from the horrible chemicals that are in store about deodorants like dea, folates, parabens, triclosan fragrance. I mean the list can go on and on and I actually have a few cool deodorant recipes that I've tried, but the deodorant spray that you're speaking of is by far the most simple recipe that I have. You just have to fill a four ounce glass spray bottle halfway with unscented vodka or you can use unscented witch hazel and then you just add 20 drops each of whichever essential oils you want. So you can use Lemon, Burma, tea tree, lavender, pet, and even peppermint if you're feeling a little crazy. But then you just fill the rest of the bottle with distilled white wine vinegar and that's it.

4 (15m 58s): And just, I do recommend to do a skin patch test to make sure it doesn't cause irritation and then you just spray it, let it dry and then put your shirt on. 0 (16m 8s): It's as simple as that. Like it doesn't have to be

4 (16m 10s): So simple a 0 (16m 11s): Cake, a cakey, no. Like so many of the deodorants are cakey cuz we think, oh, we want it to like stay there all day. But yeah. How does this work? Does this work well for you?

4 (16m 22s): Yes, and I love, I love just trying out the different sense because I'm definitely in a scent type of person. So I think being able to just choose whichever aromas that you want. I mean you could change it up every week if you want. Like it's, I think that's just what the cool thing about it. And if you have issues with dryer armpits, you can add some vegetable glycerin to the recipe to help not make it as dry.

0 (16m 50s): Great tip, you're, you're so full of practical applications of essential oils, which I love. What do you feel like is your favorite all time essential oil hack that you've come across and shared?

4 (17m 3s): Oh, well I am actually obsessed with trying new essential oil hacks and just life hacks in general. I love that essential oil hacks. And that's why I love posting them is because I feel like they get to get people that use essential oils to use them in ways that they probably wouldn't. And so that's just been a big motivation for me to find the best hacks to post on my blogs. But I think my all time favorite hands down has to be whenever you're done with your essential oil bottles and there's, you can't get any more drops left. You just take your bottles, you take the caps off and you just throw them in a jar of any of water and you just let it soak for a little bit, let it soak for a few few hours and then you can use that water that your bottles have been soaking in to add to your diffuser.

4 (17m 55s): So then you can have diffuser water so you're not wasting any precious drops of essential oils.

0 (17m 60s): Yeah, it's such a good hack is there's so much oil left in the bottles when you there

4 (18m 4s): Really is

0 (18m 5s): Using and yeah, you don't wanna waste any of it, it's just, it's precious. They're expensive,

4 (18m 11s): There

0 (18m 11s): Are, and then you always end up with these really fun concoctions, like it's sort of sort of the dredge, the dredges of essential oils, but they're all mixed together and you're like, oh wow, that was surprisingly really good.

4 (18m 24s): Right. You can find out new blends. Yep.

0 (18m 27s): I love it. I love it. Do you have a favorite essential oil like DIY recipe? Hmm.

4 (18m 36s): I think I have made and posted like a million essential oil DIY recipes, but I think I have to go with my favorite hairspray recipe. It is just like the deodorant spray, so simple to make. It's just hot water sugar, sea salt, and some healthy hair promoting oils like lavender cedarwood, peppermint rosemary, and tea tree. You just add it all to a spray bottle and that's it. You got your hair spray,

0 (19m 1s): Sugar and hair. I bet people are very skeptical of that. People

4 (19m 5s): Are, and I always, I always get questions about like bees and I just think with the, you're not adding like a cup of sugar, it's a little bit of sugar that you add to it. So honestly, I haven't had any issues with it with bees or stickiness or, I like it. It's a good recipe.

0 (19m 24s): Yeah. And is that a replacement for like a hair spray or more just like a hair treatment?

4 (19m 32s): A hair spray? Yes. I use it as a hair spray. You can, you could do it without, and just add the oils with the water and some sea salt or unsent with hazel to emulsify it together. And then that could be just your healthy hair spray without like the hold. But I like to add the sugar for to hold.

0 (19m 53s): I love that, I love that. Do you experiment a lot to come up with these recipes or do you just sort of like, is it a combination of all the things you come across online? It's, it's so much fun. Like I feel like some people, they sort of become alchemist when they start using essential oils. Like they just have this intuitive sense of like, oh, let's do put this and this and this together and see what it works. And then some people would never experiment and they just, they want the recipe and they make it and they stick to the measurements and everything like that.

4 (20m 24s): See, I love finding recipes for other people that other people can use. So for me, I am literally a scientist in the lab coat with my goggles in my kitchen, like doing different blends and craziness. So they all don't work. So that's why I just try to go through them and I try to make them myself to see what will work and what won't work so I know what to post and then what not to recommend to people. So I go crazy with the, And you shouldn't be scared. I mean it is, it's just fun. I, I have fun with it and you should have fun with it. It's not that serious. You can't, you don't have to take it so serious. If you mess up, then you mess up and you try it again.

0 (21m 2s): Yeah, yeah. Well I wanna ask you a little bit about social media. You, you have achieved the rank of this very successful essential oil influencer online. And I think that that is, it is no easy task. It is hard work. Like I, I know how much goes into doing that. So first of all, congratulations, you've got some thank you, some grit, you've stuck it out, you've done well. How can other people get to where you are if that's their goal? Like there's so many people I think trying to start a business in the essential oil world or the health and wellness world and they know that there's a power in social media, but they kind of have no idea how to get started or how to achieve it.

0 (21m 48s): Do you have any tips for people like that?

4 (21m 50s): Yes, of course. First of all, thank you so much. That was very sweet, which you said, and I think I do have some good tips for others starting, I started my page when I was actually living in Arizona in 2018, I believe I was just a housewife and I was really bored. I was actually going to pet grooming school, which is actually my other business that I have. I do house call pet nail trims here in New Jersey, but I was so bored and trying to figure out something to just keep my mind busy and I guess this is where my first tip comes in. And to say, just go for it. Like one day I just woke up and I was like, you know what, I'm just gonna post a picture. I'm gonna start a, start an Instagram page and just post a picture and eventually you'll learn what works for you and you're following.

4 (22m 37s): And like at first I thought I was just, I was just posting the most random pictures of essential oils. It did not make sense. It gave no, it offered nothing to others, but I enjoyed it and it was fun for me. So since that, I never thought I would get any type of following, let alone the 45,000 followers that I have today. And I think a lot of those followers from me came from my consistency, which is my next tip. So for the first two years I posted every single day. I did not miss a posting day and I gained a lot of my followers during this period. And I think another factor that played into my following is the content that I give, the reason for others wanting to follow me is because my content is something that interests them and that they learn from.

4 (23m 23s): So pretty pictures of your, and photos of your family and your kids. They're cute. But if this is something that you want to grow and maybe make a business out of, people aren't always going to, no offense, but care about your children and what you know, your family pictures. So

0 (23m 42s): I guess, yeah, I always say you have to give value before people care about you. You know, like you have to make it about the other people, the viewers, the audience they have. You have to be giving value to them in order to earn that ability to then have them care enough about you to share those kinds of things. Which sounds kind

4 (24m 3s): Of me, but it's just, it's so mean. But yes, yes, I mean people are busy. They don't have time to just sit and scroll. I mean people do, but not everybody has the time to just sit and scroll and see pictures of you on your vacation and like, yes, that's nice if maybe you're, if that's the blog niche that you're going for, but if you wanna talk about essential oils, you wanna give them something that they wanna come back and learn more from. So I would just say stay consistent and in that, have a posting schedule and whether you wanna do five days a week or every day or two days a week, whichever you want. I would say pre-plan, what I would do a lot is I would take, especially now that I have a full-time business, I take one of my days off and I just, I'm like a crazy madman with like sped up music run going behind me as I'm running around the house doing different posts.

4 (24m 56s): So I like to preschedule all my posts and take all the pictures and videos and everything all in one day. So then throughout the week I can just post and not have to worry about, oh my goodness, what am I gonna post today? So along with that I would just say just be active, like find a niche, like I said, and have the majority of your posts be about that niche. And yeah, you can throw in some family pictures here and there, but give something like you said that has value to people. And I think another thing I I say is support other pages that are just like yours. So follow, like, comment on and just give support to the other pages that are doing similar things as you are.

4 (25m 42s): There's no reason for it to be a competition. There's enough followers for everybody to get and enough content for everybody to have. So I think definitely be supportive of other pages in your similar niche. I think the last thing I would just say is people love free things, so giveaways are always fun and people really love them.

0 (26m 4s): Yeah, that's some great concrete advice. And I think one of the big things I heard from you is you, you, you have to approach it like a job. You can't just treat it like a hobby or a fun, like to me, my, the followers that have been following me for many, many years and listening to the show for many years know that I am not a fan of social media. Like I was on it, I was there, I showed up, I did my best, but I was never very good at consistently showing up. And eventually like the past couple years, I've pretty much dropped off completely because I found that it just was not bringing me joy. And that was sort of of your first tip is like, it has to be fun for you.

0 (26m 48s): Yes, it has to be fun. And then beyond that you do have to show it consistently. So for me it just wasn't, it just wasn't for me. And I'm very, very grateful that I don't have to be on social media necessarily to maintain my business because I've got this podcast. I'm like so beyond grateful for that. And I apologize, some of my, my followers are like, Sam, you know, you're not on social media. Like we don't get to interact with you. And I'm like, I'm sorry man, I just can't, I just can't handle

4 (27m 16s): It. No, and you're right.

0 (27m 17s): And yeah, so that's kind of one of my questions for you is like, how do you stay sane on social media and how do you, how do you show up and keep showing up with that consistency and keep it fun for yourself and not go crazy?

4 (27m 34s): It is hard, especially when you go through life, like life happens. And I have to say I did, I did go through a divorce in the past year and that of course when you're going through life changes, social media isn't the first thing that you're like, I need to, I mean, just working in general is hard when you're going through some hard times in life. So I stopped being as consistent as I should have been during the hard times. I also started my business in that, my other business in that time. So it is hard and it did become just so stressful for me at a point where it's like, okay, I'm moving, I'm getting divorced, I'm have a full, I'm running a full-time business and then I'm running my Etsy shop and like I'm doing so much that it's just, I just couldn't be creative and focus on my page.

4 (28m 30s): And I think you just have to find a good balance. And that's where I feel like the good balance comes from doing bulk posts in one day and not every single day being like, what am I gonna post today? Okay, now I have to come up with an idea, now I have to put everything together. Now I have to make something now I have to edit now. And I think recently I started posting again and being consistent with it again. And I think just what saved me is just thinking of it as fun and it's not that serious and you can't, I think if you want to have social media be your full-time thing and have no other income, that's hard because it's, nothing is guaranteed with social media.

4 (29m 15s): And I think that's where a lot of people can get burnt out easily. So I think the trick with social media is to make it a hobby. If you, if you wanna make it, make money from social media, make it a hobby that you also make a few, few bucks from, you know, don't make it be your all in one, throw all your eggs in one basket and like go full force. Because like I said, nothing is guaranteed. So you, you can get disappointed in that way.

0 (29m 44s): Yeah, yeah. And it's always evolving and always changing. You have to have this always sort of ever vigilant. Keeping up with the times mentality too, which can be really exhausting after a while can easily to burn out. Yeah.

4 (29m 59s): Different trends. Yes.

0 (30m 1s): Yep,

4 (30m 2s): Yep. Different trends going. The algorithm of Instagram is constantly changing, like the algorithm, I could tell you exactly how I got the algorithm, how I got my followers in the beginning back in 2018, but that's totally different. Like you can't even use the same tips now. No, it's, it's crazy but it's hard. But it, it's fun. That's why I said you have to just make, make it fun and don't take it that serious.

0 (30m 29s): Yeah. If you have times of where you're really stressed out, maybe you're getting a lot of mud thrown in your face on social media or just exhausted from it, what's your sort of go-to essential oil in those moments?

4 (30m 42s): So I, I am a young living user and I know not everybody uses just one brand. So I'd say I'll give you a blend and then I'll give you just a single for everyone to use. So for my young living users, I use stress away. I literally have stress away sitting right in front of me right now and I applied it all over myself this morning. So stress away if you use young living and if you don't and you just use what any brand that you want, I'd say v V is probably my favorite essential oil for just calming and bringing me back down to earth. And it's, it's a great oil if you haven't tried it, I think you need to get your hands on it.

0 (31m 19s): It's sort one of those undeniably grounding oils. It's just this instant like, whew, I feel rooted. Yeah, 4 (31m 26s): Right. And not many people know about it too. And it's, I feel like it's just an oil that gets kind of lost.

0 (31m 33s): But yeah, I think because it doesn't, not like a hero of smells, you know, like there's certain smells like stress away or valor or frankincense or even lavender, you know, is just this instant gratification of smell. Like it's this almost perfume that everyone goes Ah, right, with Vti everyone kind of goes, whoa, you know, Whoa. It's more of a whoa, like I feel grounded but I don't necessarily feel like a flower. You know what I mean? Yes. Oh I love that. So Taylor, you had mentioned your Etsy shops. I just wanted to give you, before we move on to our closing questions and opportunity to tell us a little bit about your Etsy shop, what people might find there, if you have any favorite things that you sell through that.

4 (32m 18s): Yes, thank you. So I started my Etsy shop around the same time that I started my Instagram. And I wanted it to be just a one stop shop for people that follow me and find my recipes helpful that they can go and for example, let's say that I make, I'll say the hairspray or the deodorant spray. Cause they both use the same thing. So if you go and see the deodorant spray and you wanna make it yourself, I sell the bottles with custom labels that you can use the hairspray. So I have a lot of essential oil accessories on my shop from dropper tops for the essential oil bottles to spray tops for essential oil bottles to drop her bottles and roller bottles and so many different amazing goodies.

4 (33m 4s): And I think my favorite thing that's on my Etsy shop is probably my essential oiler planner. And a few years back I was looking for a planner. I love to be organized and have a planner and I was looking for an essential oil related planner. And the ones that I kept coming across were business building ones for distributors for Young living and doTERRA. And I was like, these are really cute and they are really some, there's some great options if that's what you're looking for, but that's not what I was looking for. And I wanted something just to keep all of my essential oil info all in one spot. So I just created my own and I, I'm so happy with it.

4 (33m 44s): I've been creating it for over a few, for a few years now, and they include 12 month calendars, essential oil inventory lists to keep track of which oils you have. I have monthly essential oil wishlist to keep a list of the oils that you are running low on or that you just wish for. And then for every month I create essential oil, an essential oil tips page that has everything from diffuser recipes to safety tips and just fun essential oil tips. And then I also have 12 monthly DIY recipes. I think my hairspray is in the 2022 essential oil or book too. And I just share recipes that can help you use your essential oils in cool different DIY ways.

4 (34m 28s): And it's all in one little book.

0 (34m 30s): That's so cool. What a, what a great, I love when people create products that they themselves wanted to exist, right? That didn't exist already. And chances are, if you want something to exist as a consumer, other people feel the same way. And so it, it's a great sort of testament to if you're an inventor, you feel like you wanna create something. Like don't do it based on what you think other people want. Just do it based on your own needs. And you're sure to find a consumer based health for it EverlyWell

(36m 43s): Thanks to StoryWorth for their support of our show. If you're spending time with loved ones for the holidays, chances are you're going to hear a lot of stories, the ones you love to hear and the ones you've heard maybe too many times. But have you ever wanted to help your loved one document those timeless stories? It can be really hard to write an entire book of life memories, but story worth makes it fun and easy. So here's how it works. I recently started this with my mom and I'm loving this. She is, she was a little resistant and first, but she is loving it now and she loves the process because story worth makes it so easy. So every week they'll email your loved one a single life related question. StoryWorth

(37m 26s): For example, I really wanted my mom to write down her birth stories for me and my sisters. All she has to do is reply to that email with her story and she can even add pictures in which she's been doing. And I'm loving seeing all of the childhood pictures that my mom has and even more, I love the idea of being able to share this with my kids when they're older. So after a year story worth compiles your loved one's stories and they turn it into an exquisite hard cover book, creating a valued keepsake that I know will be passed down to my kids and hopefully their kids so that they can read stories like how their grandma used to go on family road trips in the backseat of the car with no seat buckles because hey, it was the sixties. 4 (38m 41s): Well Taylor, this has been so much fun. Thank you for coming on here and sharing your experience with us. Before you go, we always like to ask our guests a couple closing questions. And the first is, what's one or two self-care practices that you try to do every day to stay healthy? Hmm. So I'd say the first thing I do is I intermittent fast. I usually do 20 hours of fasting and four hours of eating. And aside from the weight loss benefits to intermittent fasting, I truly feel better and I do have more energy. So I do think that people should look into that for themselves if they feel like it's not for everybody, but if they feel like they can do it, it, it really has changed my life.

4 (39m 26s): I've been doing it for a few years now and the second kind of goes hand in hand to curb my hunger. I love drinking unsweetened green tea every morning. I actually have a cup right here with me. It improves brain function, boost metabolic rate, and is an excellent source of powerful antioxidants.

0 (39m 43s): Very cool. Very cool. Do you, you said unsweetened, Do you add like stevia to that or anything or just

4 (39m 49s): Straight? I just don't, I do just straight because I intermit fast and with intermittent fasting you can't have any of the added sugars or anything else. So I just do.

0 (39m 58s): Are you not allowed to do stevia in your intermittent fasting because it's zero calorie? I know. Is that still a no-no.

4 (40m 4s): So there are two different ways to intermittent fast and you can do it dirty fast or a clean and fast. And when the dirty fast you can have things like coffee and this is probably where you can have the stevia added to your tea or coffee or whichever you're drinking. And then there's a clean fast, which is just water. And I believe the green tea, unsweetened green tea is included in the clean fast. So I think it's just about what your goals are and what you're looking for to get out of the intermittent fasting if the stevia is a good idea for you.

0 (40m 36s): Are there any other tips for intermittent fasting you'd like to give? Like how to curb that hunger? Cuz I, I hear this time and time like I literally met someone yesterday who was like intermittent fasting, changed my life. Like I lost weight. I feel better a lot every time I try it. I just, I struggle with the feelings of just sort of fatigue and like energy fatigue and then hunger. Like I might try it again. I might try some green tea. But any other tips?

4 (41m 3s): Yes, I, I promise you the green tea helps and just my other tip would just be water. Just whenever, and especially my kryptonite was always snacking late at night, so I turned the snacking late at night to just water. And when you feel that hunger craving, whether it's at noon or at 10 o'clock at night, if you just chug a little bit of water and or have a little glass of green tea, it'll, it'll definitely curb the hunger for you and you won't have that need to eat anymore. Or a good tip is drop of peppermint, put a drop of peppermint in your hand and just inhale it.

0 (41m 42s): Hmm. Okay. I'll have to try that. Well finally Taylor, what's just one thing that we should all ditch completely and replace with something healthier today a day?

4 (41m 53s): I'd say the number one thing that I will tell anyone, which I kind of touched on before, is air fresheners. A lot of people really do not understand what are in these candles and plugins and sprays and just general air sprays that they buy just because they smell good. I can go on and on about the toxic chemicals that are in them that are known carcinogens and allergens and hormone disruptors. I mean literally the list can go on and on. Something that I like to tell my pet owner clients when it comes to air fresheners in their house is that, think about when you're spraying an air freshener or when you're plugging in that plugin or the wax mail or anything.

4 (42m 34s): Where do all these particles eventually end up on the floor where your dogs are laying, where your dogs are walking, eating, breathing, and also where your children are playing and breathing and walking around. It's so harmful to their little lungs. And it's just something that I wish people would look into a little more and ditch and switch it for something healthier, like essential oils. Or you can use candles, but you can find a natural tux and free soy based candles that are healthier than the candles that are found just at stores. And or you could make your own diy, your own little air fresheners. I always post room sprays and air freshener sprays and all things that you can have to ditch and switch from your toxic air fresheners.

0 (43m 23s): I love it. I think that's my, my go-to answer for the same question. I am so vehemently opposed to those like fel the high rich air fresheners and plugins and even like highly scented candles or talk about people going after the wrong target on the, on the internet, like you said, like, Oh, you're yelling at me about essential oils. But look, you've got like that Yankee candle in your background. I see it. You know?

4 (43m 51s): Exactly. I just, and it's just, it's just ignorance. It's just people not knowing and not being aware. And I think that if more people just did do a quick Google search, it really doesn't take much, You don't have to go crazy, but just do a quick Google search, look at whatever air fresh, whatever brand of air freshener you have, type in the brand toxic chemicals, and it will come up with a list of the toxic chemicals and why they are toxic. And that's all it takes to just do the research on your own.

0 (44m 20s): Yep. I couldn't agree more. Well, thank you so much, Taylor. You've given us such wonderful tips and insights today and I've learned a lot.
